Finally got hold of the address for the ultra-nifty world browser with satellite imagery. You can add your own bookmarks, zoom in to Paris, find the youth hostel you stayed in and mark it. You can search for a landmark and it will move to it. You have three degrees of movement and there’s an option for topographic info where it’s available. Only available for PC unfortunately. Almost amazing enough to make me want a PC.
