The kit­ten’s name is Jezebel. Here are more pic­tures! Kind of appro­pri­ate: the woman who brought pagan wor­ship to the Jews (and was roundly con­demned for it). There’s some indic­a­tion that her brand of pagans were ‘depraved’, pos­sibly those who fled Sodom and Gomor­rah. Sadly, they’re also reputed to be viol­ent. I’m hoping that will just show in the more modern mean­ing of ‘brazen’. Or in viol­ent defence of the house against intruders. I decided against Phoenix because I’m the one who needs to rise from the ashes and she needs to be her own cat, not just a rein­carn­a­tion of my old cat.
