Today was long and exhausting but very satisfying. I am now sitting up in my bed having rubbed beautiful L’Occitane foot cream into my tired, sore feet. Just got back from the after-party after-party at Cherry. The after-party at Zargatt was good but finished too soon. The opening ResFest session of Michel Gondry clips and ads was great (if you don’t know him as the guy who does clips for Bjà¶rk, The White Stripes, Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk, you may know the Smirnoff ad with the guy and the girl on the train where everything keeps changing… that’s his too).

I’m looking after Festival Director Jonathan Wells, who is sweet but vague and I feel like his mother (Have you left yourself enough time to eat? Go and get changed NOW, you have an interview in 20 minutes and then I want you on stage immediately after that…)

I was introduced to two people “Bill” and “James”. I’m pretty sure these were Bill Gosden (director of the New Zealand Film Festival who’d just arrived from the Return of the King Première) and James Hewison (director of Melbourne International Film Festival). Clare Stewart, the ACMI Cinema Programmer, got very excited when Calexico turned up to our after-party.

Anyhow, you all have to come down to ACMI and see at least one session of fabulous digital shorts. Sessions from tomorrow night until Monday. It’s all very exciting. The Michel Gondry is repeated on Monday…

More craziness tomorrow, but hey, I thrive on it. Wish it was a permanent job…
