Have I men­tioned I love my friends?

My insanely awe­some friend, Max Bourke, was the cine­ma­to­grapher on a new doco series that will air on SBS in Octo­ber. The series, Swap­ping Lives, is the brainchild of David Goldie and Sohail Dahdal who I met at x|media|lab. (You might know them from the online doco Long Jour­ney: Young Lives.)

Before the show airs, there’s an online inter­act­ive ver­sion of it at the Web site. Explore the stor­ies of Dewi, an Indone­sian 19-year-old who swaps lives for 10 weeks with Violet, an Aus­tralian 19-year-old.

In the cur­rent cli­mate of fear and cul­tural intol­er­ance, I think this kind of pro­ject is utterly essen­tial. Go, watch, discuss.
