First day… Cat Empire were amazing, Wild Marmalade were amazing. I feel a bit sad that I ended up doing both on my own: the first because the gang weren’t really into it, the second because I didn’t have my mobile on me.

I want someone on my wavelength to share music and joy with me…

The opening ceremony was lovely: we sang “time is a traveller” and pledged allegiance to the People’s Republic of Woodford, to exhilarate in the music and respect the land. There were fireworks. It was very pretty.

Ran into Toby and Lily and read them the maskmaker and the firedancer poem, which was pretty cool. They loved it. They finally have e‑mail so we’ll see whether they keep in touch this time.

Jacky, the Spanish singer I ran into in the street a few weeks ago, is here… he’s a very emotional boy, is Jacky. Also ran into Lisa Brown from high school… and of course, Melinda is here.

After Wild Marmalade, I hung around the Chai tent a little and saw a guy I thought I knew. His name is Daniel and he has beautiful eyes. I didn’t have time to talk, so I just said hi briefly. Maybe tomorrow…
