Meanwhile, Hamas has won the Palestinian Authority Election and this means dinner conversation with my parents just got waaaay more complicated again. Actually, dinner conversation in my own head just got more complicated. I am NOT pro-terror. I am very anti-Hamas and its extremist line. However, I am ALSO very anti-hardline rightwing Israeli government lines. I cannot see how this election result helps anyone. It’ll just prolong the pain, suffering and horror for everyone.
I was going to make this part of the same post as the last one, but thought I’d separate the arguments. And then I was going to make it friends-only to avoid the inevitable slanging match… but let’s see if we can keep this rational and civil, okay?
EDIT: I’m sorry… George Bush just said ‘you cannot be a partner in peace and have an armed wing’… and so your army is what, George? Fluffy bunnies?
