Just saw Syriana. Amazing. If you have any interest in the middle east, the US interference in foreign policy, the politics of oil, see it. Don’t have time for a full review because this is my third late night in as many nights.
I’m deeply impressed with the latest crop of political films and quality films with complex storylines, intelligent scripts and challenges to the status quo. In particular, I’d recommend seeing Crash, dealing with racism in contemporary America; Syriana, dealing with US interference in the middle east, corporate corruption and government collusion; and Constant Gardener, dealing with development, aid and multinational pharmaceuticals.
