In other news, the G20 convergence launch went well, drjon snuck off before I could say goodbye, avidscavenger gave a talk, and a couple broke up due to political differences but both seemed to find this quite amusing (she said he was too neo-liberal, he said she was too Left. Names have been omitted to protect the ambivalent). The band towards the end, made up of members of Trojan Horns found by Allegra, was awesome, reggae ska funkster groove. We danced, we boogied. I snuck James Geurts’ video work “Microcosm” onto the screen, especially for the 4th of July (an egg painted as the American flag goes gently around and around in a microwave, interrupted by static and subliminal images of tanks until it explodes, leaving shattered eggshell and pulpy egg innards everywhere).
