I don’t know how
(some)
women do it —
I see you out there
(tumblr, Facebook, twitter, lj)
— you are as virulent, vicious, outraged
(hurt)
as I feel by this endless parade,
this daily offence, this unrelenting
(drip drip drip)
staccato of dismissal, disapproval, dismay

(and yet)

you persist
you are endlessly nice, kind
(tactful)
face to face
in the face of it
faced with no other option it seems
and so you
(pass)
get away with it

(seethe quietly)

while I
name names
take no prisoners
call it like I see it
do not suffer fools
(am difficult)
(act like a man)

i don’t know how
women do it
