Lifted from insomnius, because I’ve been very lazy and not working on Wikipedia/Wikinews recently, so I was unaware of this:
I’m sure you’ll see this splattered all over your internet, but I think it’s hilarious that the block of IP addresses used by US Congress has apparently been banned from Wikipedia (for editing purposes, that is). I say apparently because, while that’s what all the links I’ve seen are saying, I’m yet to see the statement that says the IPs are actually banned.
I guess that’s what happens when you act like an annoying Wikipedia-vandal-kid, while actually being paid by Congress and really easy to track down.
Ha ha ha.
Wow. Exactly the sort of thing I was talking about writing a thesis on: is it possible to maintain neutrality in an open publishing world or, conversely, does an open publishing world actually reveal the lack of neutrality in the mainstream media. How much of mainstream new is similarly whitewashed but we never hear about it?
