According to The Age, one of the parties in the upcoming Israeli elections is saying voters will go to Hell if they don’t vote for Shas. This confused me, ‘cos Jews don’t believe in Hell… well, not like that, anyway.
Instead, there’s Gehenna, a place where you get tormented for about a year to purify your soul before you can go to the good place. Its closest Christian equivalent is purgatory, from the concept of purging. I don’t know what the Muslim equivalent is because I’m ignorant.
