Just watching tonight’s Denton (having finished marking!!! Whee!) and it’s possibly the best I’ve seen. Ever.

First the best Richard E Grant interview I’ve ever seen and the best interview of someone hassling Andrew Denton back, and followed by Ciaron O’Reilly, an anarchist Christian peace activist and direct action activist who was arrested attempting to dismantle a nuclear weapon on an Irish military base on New Year’s Day a number of years ago. Indymedia has been promoting his cause for a while (since he was detained by ASIO when he arrived again after the most recent action). “I believe,” he says to Denton, “that part of being fully human is resisting these systems of death and these principalities and powers that put human life second to property and profit and power.” It’s amazing to see him get such mainstream coverage.

Tomorrow, the transcripts will be up, and you can download the MP3s from the site too but I’d argue you *have* to see Grant’s expressions. I’ll have this on video for a few days if anyone wants to drop around. You also have to see Grant’s new film Wah-wah, an autobiographical feature that just sounds incredible.
