Marvellous day. Brekky with Kate and Morgan then a day jaunt to Quebec City, superb lunch – some of you may know I’m a locavore (thanks to Kate for the great word) which means I try to eat local foods wherever I am and don’t eat meats that aren’t indigenous if I can help it… there’s other stuff but it’s complex – anyway, lunch was at a restaurant called Aux Anciennes Canadiens and we had stag, buffalo and caribou in pink peppercorn sauce for mains matched with local cider followed by baked custard with maple syrup matched with maple syrup whisky. Yum yum yum yum yum.

Now I’m in our gorgeous hotel room in an 1888 warehouse in the docks of old Montréal waiting for Doug to emerge from the shower – speak of the devil – and then we’ll go grab a light snack and some good red, I think. Tomorrow a plane home.
