The crisp­ness is start­ing to seep into the days. 

I respond with soups and hot desserts: potato and pump­kin soup fla­voured with ginger, cori­ander and basil fol­lowed by spiced poached pears topped with stewed apple and rhu­barb. Everything is fresh from the farm­ers’ market and organic, even the cinnamon. 

We snuggle up and bask in our blessings.
