So, Tabor was nice but very quiet on a Thursday. All the nifty hip hop clubs and techno places looked like they would go off on the weekend but I needed to get to Prague. I’m fascinated by the idea of the Tabor commune which was around from 1420 till the mid-17th century. I had no idea about the Hussites and now I want to know more.
Sorted out delaying my flight but turns out that was my last $40, so it was pretty stupid… Anyhow, if you’re going to be broke anywhere, the Czech Republic is the place to be.
Prague is as big and touristy as everyone said it would be. The guys at the hostel are quite nice, everyone is sharing their absinth and vodka so I’m not paying for alcohol and a pack of instant noodles costs 8 crowns or 50 cents. I’ve paid for my accomodation till the plane and I have enough for the bus fare to the airport. It’s a far cry from earning a packet last year and probably very good for me. I love the fact that my MEAA journo card gets me into museums for free though. Went to Prague Castle yesterday, didn’t pay a cent.
Now sitting in a KFC using free WiFi (weird, I know) and trying to work.
Got an e‑mail yesterday from someone important to me essentially saying our friendship is over, so that was hard, but I guess I knew it was coming. Balance and new beginnings, right?
