Read this article by Pamela Bone about the treatment of women in Pakistan. I don’t agree with her conclusion that “America is not the enemy” but I certainly agree that too great a focus on the US means that international protesters are left without sufficient resources to bring international pressure to bear on fixing some of the other key issues in the world.
It revolts me when the US claims they “toppled the Taliban” and somehow deserve praise for it. They had many years in which they could have done that, years in which women were dying, being systematically tortured, raped and killed.
