I was in the State Library the other day and I saw that they have a writer’s week from now till May 16… and that Homi Bhabha, hybridity theory superstar, was speaking, but that the session was sold out. Noooooo!!

So, I did was any self-disrespecting journalist would do. I rang The Age, explained who he was and why he was important, lined up a profile, rang the media unit at the Library, found out it was being organised by the Postcolonial Studies program at Monash, rang them and lined up an interview. He just flew in and I just got a phone call confirming I’m interviewing him at 10.30am tomorrow. Oh, and that I have a ticket waiting for me for the talk on Tuesday too.

I’d be ashamed of myself if I wasn’t so thrilled and intimidated, all at once.
