So, I’m doing two poetry gigs this week:
GIG 1: “The boys will learn”, 6pm, FRIDAY AUGUST 13: Cape Lounge, Cnr Brunswick & Johnston Sts, Fitzroy
Gabrielle Everall (W.A), Rosanne Bersten, Justin Ashworth, Mark Leviston, Ken Smeaton. (Mostly my sexy poetry, some politics, lots of stuff) [1]
GIG 2: “La femme journée”, 8pm, SUNDAY AUGUST 15: BAR OPEN, 317 Brunswick St, Fitzroy
Meg Dunn, Rosanne Bersten, Dorothy Porter, Tomoko (trapeze) will take you on four very different, very personal journeys in one special event. (All the travel stuff, plus some stuff you haven’t heard before)
Please come!
In other news, I had my first full day of work at the new job today.
It’s kinda weird writing this when I’m very aware my new boss has made it clear he reads it (hi, Richard!). I’m nowhere near as exhausted as I’d expected after an 11-hour day. In fact, I feel quite invigorated. It’s soooo nice to be back editing and I feel like I’m on top of the task so far.
We’ll see how it goes after the next two days, the days I have to leave early to go to teach at the uni and coincidentally, the two days before deadline.
Must go make pretty pictures for Sunday’s gig and check lecture for Thursday’s lecture. Did I mention I’m not going to have time for a social life in the next few weeks?
[1] Does this mean I’ve double-booked, frou_frou?
