There was a moment yesterday morning when I sat with sleazemonkey (sometimes, sweetie, I think you need a new LJ handle… but given where we were, this time it’s perfect) and I thought, ‘yep, this is where I’m supposed to be’. After all the craziness of getting ourselves there, the night itself was superb: lovely people, great shows, good dancing, Sveta’s superb set, even that moment where the high combined with the music to make even the handbag house work perfectly. I like it when people say I look ravishing. *grin*. Jack looked fantastic too.

My friend xammy dances like a dream. Mmm, I love to watch.

In the morning, Jack and I skived a lift home with Max, had a superb shower in hawk_eye and matoko’s fabulous double shower, changed and had brunch at Vargabar (delicious) and ate gelato in the park.

After Jack got on his bus, I went into town to the End the Lies rally. I decided to walk from Central to Town Hall – those who knew me way back when may be as amazed as I that my hips and legs were still up to such a walk after a night of dancing, but such is the magnificence of my chiropractor (thanks orethule for the recommendation). I walked past the hole-in-the-ground that is World Square and was amazed and inspired to see the scaffolding has been entirely turned into a canvas for street and stencil artists.

I took a lot of photos. Aren’t they pretty?

At the rally, I wandered around aimlessly for a while. Saw Merlin from Big Brother and remembering that hermia8 had said she wanted to give him a hug for his courage, I walked up to him, told him I thought he was very brave and that I was impressed with his chutzpah and explained I needed to give him a hug for a friend. So I did. He thought it was funny, I think. After that, I bumped into my aunt Joan, my uncle Alan (holding the sign) and my cool cuz, Vanessa. I walked with them the rest of the rally route. We grew swiftly bored with the regular chants and ended up chanting “el pueblo, unido, no va sera vencido”. The Sydney sunshine was lovely on my skin in Belmore Park afterwards listening to speeches, including Kerry Nettle, spot on chyk for the Greens.

For various reasons, I ended up in a real rush at the end of things and left Day & Liz’s place a teensy bit messy (apologies again, kids!).

I needed that though. Thanks to all involved.
