So, I’m keeping up with the ongoing débâcle via The New York Times’ fairly nice coverage of the US election (wish it updated automatically though…) and it looks scary right now.
I am fascinated at the message on the front of LJ right now though, partly for its US-centric language (they haven’t said ‘If you’re a US citizen…’ and the coördinators of this space *must*, of all people, know how many LJ users are non-US… but I understand their focus right now… the US flag does kinda cover it…) but more importantly for the 5000 responses. I’m beginning to agree a little with Brandon, who noted that the one benefit of right-wing puslickers in power is that they mobilise debate and resistance in a way that socially-aware-but-still-capitalist sops do not.
