I’ve recently stumbled upon Post a secret.
I’m fascinated by this site for a number of reasons: anonymity has always intrigued me; secrets on the web allow for a voyeurism that is not possible otherwise; the nature of the postcards require an offline component to this project, similar to another site I used to be fascinated by (1000 Journals). I’m also intrigued by the quality of the secrets: the poignancy, the contrast of the text to the images, the simplicity of the concept and the interactivity. There are no comments, no discussion of the secrets and therefore no condemnation, no moralising. Instead, this ends up being a postmodern confessional.
It makes me ask what we can learn about a society from its secrets…
In other news, happy birthday, Dad.
