J: My name’s Jacob, I’m from Sydney originally, of a Maltese background.

R: What’s your reaction to globalisation in general?

J: Well, it’s distressing, I’ve got to say. It’s something that’s been creeping up on us for a number of years and it seems that by and large the community has only started reacting against it now that it’s a fait accompli. Regardless of what happens with the WTO rules, etc, globalisation is here and I think it’s epitomised by this current war drive.
It’s often said that McDonalds needs McDonald-Douglas and Starbucks needs Star Wars. The militaristic nature of globalisation has finally been exposed by this war.
